About the artist, Mary Glovanovitch (Mary G)

My love of art began at a very young age and, throughout my life, that love never faded.  However, as I grew up and life happened, other priorities and interests pushed art aside.  Retired now with life a bit slower and less demanding, I'm back exploring this passion.  My husband, Dan, is very supportive in my artistic pursuits and I'm also happy to share my passion with my dear friend and partner in artistic chaos, Carolina Gonzalez .  Please use the link provided to view her work!

My mixed media pieces may feature  embelishments utilizing clay, beads, crystals, etc. and some of my  paintings are mounted on wood for a rustic look.  I have also created a few faux stained glass pieces and decorative trays. While my main focus is paining, I have also created decorative bottles, vases and trinket boxes.  I never know when a new idea may creep up on me and I'm never afraid to dive into it, using ALMOST anything that looks interesting.

As a native Texan and free spirit, I have always appreciated the western lifestyle and the rich colors found in its landscapes and many cultures. I enjoy the use of vibrant as well as muted color schemes.  Many of my paintings are a an actual "journey" as they may develop and change direction during the process of creating them with surprising results. While I use the term "abstract" to define most of my paintings;  some pieces certainly do not fall into that category.

If you've enjoyed viewing my pieces, I am accepting commissions and would be happy to discuss creating a piece to brighten your life.
